Star trek in relate to my film

•Does the film have an exploitable theme?

         My film genre of comedy will atract my target audience well and will be able to attract many others from outside the target audience.

•Is the cast/director of interest?

         Just like the film Startrek my film has a high count of blockbuster stars, this will also help to attract the audience and exite the public about the film.

• Is it a genre movie?

         Stratrek has its own individual genre of sci-fi and my film has a genre of romantic comedy.

• Will reviews matter?

          The film Startrk had many high rated views from both the public and from critics and studies show that this helped ring in people from outside the target audience, i think that by having a common genre it wouldn't matter as much as to wether or not the reviews were high however a good review would make the audience numbers higher.

 

•WHAT-  The genre of my film is comedy, and i have chosen the sub genre of romance, i have chosen these as i believe they are high rated genres and would relate to both my target audience and others aswell.There are many similar types of films in this catagorie however i will asure that my film is unique and does not have a storyline that is to much like other past films that have been made in my genre. My film will be a mainstream film but will be shown in other cinamas no just like Startrek.

•WHO – My target audience is females between the age of 15-25, i have chosen this range because i believe that it is the audience that would mainly go to the cinema and would be most likely to see a romantic comedy, the age that i have used here is similar to the age that is linked to startrek.

•WHEN – The film will be released in summer 2013, i have chosen summer because this is usually around the time that students will be off school/collage and both young adults and adults will have more time to see a film, The marketing will start 2 months prier to the film release.

•HOW – The film would be advertised similar to Startrek, Startrek used billardboards and tv/ radio/ cinema dvertisments to promote the films, they also used press junkets and celebrity interviews. My film will use all of the above to promote the film aswell as using social media such as facebook and twitter, by using these we will increase the audience amounts as most 15-25year olds use these routinley.
