Two film case studies

Film 1 ( Friends with benifits)
Shot types
Cutaway shot - shows the two main characters together in the main location of the film.
Medium upclose shot shows the two characters together but without seeing the location aswel.
Mid shot
Cutaway shot- shows the location and characters together
Extreme wide shot- shows all sections of the location.
Over the shoulder shot- switches while the characters talk to each otheer
Medium close up- shot points upwards.
Mid shot- servral used in same minute to show different locations
Close up- shows the emotions
Wide shot- shows location and surrondings

The length of the trailer is 1 minute 44 seconds.
The codes and conventions that the trailer follows are:
  • Voiceover
  • Main characters introduced
  • Romantic colouring and text
  • Boy meet Girl
  • Romantic hesitation
  • Live happily ever after

Film 2 ( Love actually)

Close up- characters whisper
Mid shot- shows main character talking
